For detailed instructions, please visit our Activate Custom Pricing

4. Show customer sign-in links

If you are offering customer-specific pricing for wholesale or VIP members, customers must be able to log into their store account in order to view and access their special pricing.

In your Shopify admin, go to Settings > Customer accounts.

Please visit Shopify's help center for more information on customer accounts.

5. Configure Tags

Customer tags are how Custom Pricing knows which of your customers receive which discounts.

When creating your tags, you can set a default discount and decide whether or not to charge taxes in the checkout. You can manually add them to your customers' accounts in Shopify or use the auto-tagging feature available on the Customer Pricing Standard and Complete plans.

Visit Create, Edit or Delete Customer Tags for more information on how to set up these tags and assign them to your customer accounts.

6. Create your product pricing rules

You can configure your wholesale or VIP member product discounts for each customer group (customer tag) using either of the following methods:

  • Product Pricing Groups: Lets you configure discounts for a group of products at once.  Visit Create, Edit or Delete Product Pricing Groups for more information on how to set up these groups.

  • Detailed Pricing: Lets you configure detailed discounts by individual product or variant, instead of creating multiple Product Pricing Groups. You can also bulk import or export detailed pricing. For more information, please visit our Detailed Pricing Overview.

Note: Detailed Pricing is available on the Complete plan.

7. Optional: Select a discount method

Custom Pricing is available in three different versions, each using a different method to discount the products on your store. Each discount method has varying benefits and limitations, so it's important to use the one that works best for you.

The three different discount methods available in Custom Pricing are as follows:

  • Variant Dependant Method (V1)

  • Standard Method (V2)

  • Accelerated Method (V3)

Note: By default, Standard Method (V2) is supplied on new installs of Custom Pricing, with Shopify Functions enabled.

For more information on each discount method, please visit Discount Methods and How to Switch.
