With the Memberships app, you can invite users by email to become part of a membership plan free of charge. This feature allows store owners, staff, or even customers in special cases, to be a part of a membership plan without needing to go through the registration process or make any payments.
Find the plan you would like to invite a user to, click the Actions button, followed by clicking the Invite option. This will bring up a modal on the screen where you can enter the email address of the user(s) which you would like to invite to your membership plan. Below is the contents of this modal.
If the user(s) which you invite already have a customer account in your store, they will receive the template above in the form of an email, and simply be able to log in to their customer account to get their membership access. The content of the email is purely informational, no action is required from the user.
If the user(s) which you have invite do not already have a customer account, they will receive the template above in the form of an email, as well as an additional email from your store prompting them to create a password for their newly created account. This is because when a user is invited to a membership plan, if they do not already have a customer account in your store, one will be created on their behalf, and they will need to complete the account creation before they can log into their account and access their membership. Completing the account creation is as simple as checking for emails from your store, and clicking the link prompting you to create a password for your account. Once the customer account has a password, it becomes active, and the user can log in to get their membership access.
