Use the Customer's Location to Automatically Set the Currency

 Caution

Multi-Currency can only display currencies on your storefront and does not have the ability to convert currencies in Shopify's checkout by itself. If you have a grandfathered plan for Bold Cashier installed on your store, you can offer currency conversions on the checkout page.

Multi-Currency has the ability to geo-locate your customer's IP address and show your store's prices in their local currency.

Note: If the app is unable to correctly locate your customer, it will show them prices in the store's default currency.

To use the customer's location to automatically set the currency in Multi-Currency, please follow these steps: 

  1. From Shopify's admin, select Apps.

    Select Apps

  2. Select Multi-Currency.

    Select Multi Currency

  3. Under "Customer Geo-Location, select Use the customer's location to automatically set the store currency.

    Note: Selecting or deselecting this check box automatically saves this option, and you will receive a "Saved Successfully" message. To disable this setting, deselect the check box.
