Create Product Pricing Groups

The product pricing groups are how Custom Pricing determines which items you want to offer wholesale pricing on.

You're able to set specific discounts on products that will override the discounts you've applied with your pricing tags.

With Custom Pricing Premium, you're able to go even further with this, and apply discounts to specific variants.

The Quantity Breaks module provides you with ability to create and offer additional pricing discounts to customers that purchase multiples of certain items or variants.

Note: If you haven't created a pricing tag yet, please visit Create a Customer Pricing Tag to learn how to set this up.

To create your product pricing groups, please follow these steps:

  1. From Shopify's admin, select Apps.

    Select Apps on the left side of your Shopify admin

  2. Select Bold Custom Pricing (Wholesale & Quantity Breaks).

    Select Bold Custom Pricing (Wholesale & Quantity Breaks) from your list of apps

  3. Select Product Pricing Groups.

    Select Product Pricing Groups from the left side of your Shopify admin

  4. Select Create Product Pricing Group.

    Select Create Product Pricing Group in the top right corner of the screen

  5. Enter an Internal Name and select the Calculation Type.

    Note: The discounts can be calculated by percent, amount, or by setting a fixed price.

    Under Internal Name, enter a name for the group in the text box and select a Calculation Type from the box to the right

  6. Select Override Cents (optional).

    Note: This option will round the cents of each product in this pricing group to the number you specify.

  7. Select one of the following options:

    Note: This option will only appear if you have the Quantity Breaks module enabled in Custom Pricing. Visit Enable Quantity Breaks in Custom Pricing for more information.

    • Apply Customer Quantity Pricing per individual variants: Customers need to purchase multiples of the exact same variant in order to receive a quantity-based discount. Ex: 5 large-size red shirts.

    • Apply Customer Quantity Pricing per product: Customers need to purchase multiples of the same product in order to receive a quantity-based discount. Ex: 5 red shirts.

    • Mix & Match: Customers can purchase multiples of any products with the same mix & match label to receive a quantity-based discount. Ex: 2 products from Group A and 3 products from Group B that both use the "GOLD-STATUS" mix & match label.

      Note: After selecting this option, you'll have to enter a label for your mix & match products.

  8. Choose Select Products, then select one of the following options.

    Note: This guide is using the "Collection" selection type for reference. Custom Pricing's product selector offers different options depending on how you wish to select these products.

    Choose Select Products and select Add beside the items you want to apply your wholesale discounts to

  9. Choose your collection(s) and select Save Selection.

  10. Set your quantity discounts.

    Note: This option will only appear if you have the Quantity Breaks module enabled in Custom Pricing. Visit Enable Quantity Breaks in Custom Pricing for more information.

    Within the Configure Price Levels section, select the plus symbol and enter your quantity discounts

  11. Select the Group Status.

    Note: This will determine whether the group is enabled or disabled after saving.

    Toggle the Group Status on or off in the section below configuring your price levels

  12. Select Save.

    Select Save in the bottom right corner of this screen

Next Steps:

  • If you're using Custom Pricing Premium, you can further override these discounts with detailed pricing amounts. Your wholesale discounts could then vary on a customer, product, and variant level. Visit Set up Detailed Pricing for more information.
