To connect your Xero account with Xero Sync, please follow the steps below.
- Click Connect now.
- Enter your Xero credentials.
- Click Allow access.
3. Configure Settings
Once Xero Sync has been installed onto your Shopify store and your Xero account has been connected, Xero Sync settings are displayed. From here, you can connect the accounts from your Xero organization in Xero Sync. These accounts are used to map information such as products, payments and shipping from orders that are exported by Xero Sync.
You can view a complete list of your accounts on the Chart of Accounts page in your Xero dashboard.
For more details on the Xero accounts in Xero Sync, visit Configure Xero Sync Settings.
4. Configure Taxes
When orders are exported by Xero Sync and your Xero account is based in the United Kingdom, Australia, or New Zealand, you must map your Shopify tax rates to your Xero tax rates.
Whenever an order contains a new tax rate that has not yet been mapped, Xero Sync will create a new tax rate that must be mapped within the app.
For more details on mapping tax rates, please visit View and Configure Taxes in Xero.
5. Exporting Orders
Xero Sync exports orders that are paid or fulfilled from your store into your Xero account. These exports can be done manually and/or an automatic export.
The automatic export can be enabled within the Xero Sync settings page. When enabled, an export is started at midnight in your store’s local time zone and exports orders from the previous day and the current day.
A manual export can be generated in Xero Sync on the dashboard page. A start and end date can be set, which exports orders that were purchased or fulfilled in-between the date range chosen.
For more information on exporting orders, visit Export Orders from Shopify to Xero.
6. Optional: Import products or inventory
Xero Sync allows you to import products and inventory from your Xero account to your Shopify store.
When importing your products from Xero to Shopify, mappings are created, and all inventory tracked and non-inventory tracked products are imported. In addition, inventory levels on previously imported and mapped products are updated to the levels shown in Xero.
When importing your inventory from Xero to Shopify, the inventory levels on all active mapped products in your Shopify store are updated to match the inventory levels set in your Xero account.
Please visit the articles below for more information on importing products and inventory.
7. Optional: Map products and customers
Xero Sync allows you to manage product and customer mappings between your Shopify store and your Xero account.
Product mappings connect your products in Shopify to the corresponding products in Xero. These mappings are automatically created for products when they are involved in orders that are exported over via Xero Sync or when a product import is performed in Xero Sync.
Customer mappings connect customer profiles in Shopify to the corresponding customer profile in Xero. When an order is exported over that contains a customer that is not yet mapped to a customer in Xero, a new customer is created in your Xero account.
