3. Configure Settings
Once QuickBooks Sync has been installed onto your Shopify store and your QuickBooks Online account has been connected, QuickBooks Sync settings are displayed. From here, you can connect the accounts from your QuickBooks Online account in QuickBooks Sync. These accounts are used to map information such as products, payments and shipping from orders that are exported by QuickBooks Sync.
You can view a complete list of your accounts on the Chart of Accounts page in your QuickBooks Online dashboard under Transactions > Chart of accounts.
For more details on the QuickBooks Online accounts in QuickBooks Sync, visit Set up QuickBooks Sync Settings.
4. Configure Taxes
When orders are exported by QuickBooks Sync, you must map your Shopify tax rates to your QuickBooks Online tax rates.
Whenever an order contains a new tax rate that has not yet been mapped, QuickBooks Sync will create a new tax rate that must be mapped within the app.
For more details on mapping tax rates, please visit View and Configure Taxes in QuickBooks Online.
5. Exporting Orders
QuickBooks sync exports orders that are paid or fulfilled from your store into your QuickBooks Online account. These exports can be done manually and/or an automatic export.
The automatic export can be enabled within the QuickBooks Sync settings page. When enabled, an export is started at midnight in your store’s local time zone and exports orders from the previous day and the current day.
A manual export can be generated in QuickBooks Sync on the dashboard page. A start and end date can be set, which exports orders that were purchased or fulfilled in-between the date range chosen.
For more information on exporting orders, visit Export Orders from Shopify to QuickBooks Online.
6. Optional: Import products or inventory
QuickBooks Sync allows you to import products and inventory from your QuickBooks Online account to your Shopify store.
When importing your products from QuickBooks Online to Shopify, mappings are created, and all inventory and non-inventory products are imported. In addition, inventory levels on previously imported and mapped products are updated to the levels shown in QuickBooks online.
When importing your inventory from QuickBooks Online to Shopify, the inventory levels on all active mapped products in your Shopify store are updated to match the inventory levels set in your QuickBooks Online account.

7. Optional: Map products and customers
QuickBooks Sync allows you to manage product and customer mappings between your Shopify store and your QuickBooks Online account.
Product mappings connect your products in Shopify to the corresponding products in QuickBooks Online. These mappings are automatically created for products when they are involved in orders that are exported over via QuickBooks Sync or when a product import is performed in QuickBooks Sync.
Customer mappings connect customer profiles in Shopify to the corresponding customer profile in QuickBooks Online. When an order is exported over that contains a customer that is not yet mapped to a customer in QuickBooks Online, a new customer is created in your QuickBooks Online account.
