Mapply requires a Google Maps API key to function, they are free and only take a few minutes to set up. The API key is how your store makes requests to Google for things like address lookups.
To create the API key, you will need a Google account:
- If you have a Gmail email address, you have a Google account.
- If you need a Google account, visit Google Account Signup.
To create an API key and add it to Mapply, please follow these steps:
- Log into the Google Developer Console.
- Select Create Project.
- Enter a Project name.
- Select Browse.
- Select a location, then choose Select.
- Select Create.
- Wait for the creation process to complete.
- Select Enable APIs and Services.
- Search Maps Javascript API.
- Select Maps Javascript API.
- Select Enable.
- Select Credentials.
- Select Create Credentials.
- Select API Key.
- Select Close.
- Select APIs.
- Repeat steps 9 - 16 for the five remaining Google Maps APIs:
- Select Roads API - > Enable - > Back.
- Select Embed API - > Enable - > Back.
- Select Geocoding API - > Enable - > Back.
- Select Directions API - > Enable - > Back.
- Select Geolocation API - > Enable - > Back
- Select APIs.
- Select Maps Javascript API.
- Select Credentials.
- Copy your API key.
- Visit Mapply Account Page, log in if necessary.
- Select Help.
- Select Map API Key.
- Paste the Google API Key you copied in step 13.
- Select Save.
