Advanced Options in Bold Upsell

Overview

In Bold Upsell, when you create either a cross-sell offer or an upsell offer, there are advanced options at the bottom of the creation screen. This article offers a detailed explanation of these features and what they do.

These are the options that this article will explain in more depth:

  • Allow customers to select more than one product in the offer
  • Allow customers to set product quantities in the offer
  • Make the product image or product names a link to the product page
  • Hide products that are out of stock (ie. don't allow backorders)
  • Automatically remove items from the cart if the trigger or conditions are unmet
  • Only display the additional cost of the replacement product
  • Match quantities of upsold products

Click on the corresponding tab to see more information about each of the features.

Note: This appears when creating a cross-sell offer with any trigger.

This option allows customers to purchase more than one offer product (if you have set multiple offer products). If they buy one trigger product, they can choose as many discounted products as they wish.

If you have your entire store offered at buy one, get one half price, then the customer could purchase one product at full price and receive 5 different products at half price. This feature has no limiter; with this option selected, the customer can receive an infinite number of discounted products, but only one of each individual product.

Note: This appears when creating a cross-sell offer with an "add to cart" or "before checkout" trigger.

Choosing this will display a quantity selector, allowing customers to add multiple quantities of each offer product.

If you have your entire store offered at buy one, get one half price, the customer could purchase one product at full price and receive a quantity of 5 of a single product at half price. This feature has a limiter so you could set a maximum number they can purchase (i.e. 5).

Note: This appears when creating an upsell, or a cross-sell offer with an "add to cart" or "before checkout" trigger.

This will turn the product image and title into a link. When your customer selects this link, they will be taken to the product page for more information about the product.

This feature requires additional coding to be added to your theme in order for it to function correctly. Please contact our Merchant Success team for assistance with this installation.

Note: We can only track when an item is added through the offer window. By checking this, we will not be able to report your conversions accurately.

Note: This appears when creating an upsell, or a cross-sell offer with any trigger.

This option hides out-of-stock products. Once a product has no more stock available, it will no longer be available in the upsell offer. This feature will not allow customers to purchase out-of-stock products, essentially disallowing backorders.

Note: This appears when creating an upsell, or a cross-sell with an "add to cart" or "before checkout" trigger, but only if Bold Discounts is installed on your store. This feature will also not appear if the Funnels feature is enabled in Upsell.

This option will remove any discounted products from the customer's cart if they no longer meet the qualifying conditions of the offer.

This will only function correctly if the discounted products are created using Bold Discounts V1's duplicate and hide feature.

Visit Create a Buy One Get One (BOGO) Offer for more detailed information on how to setup this type of offer.

Note: This appears when creating an upsell offer.

This feature will show the price difference, rather than the full price of the product you upsell. (i.e. "Upgrade for only $4 more").

Note: This appears when creating an upsell offer.

If the customer adds 2 of the trigger products and they choose to accept the upsell offer, then 2 offer products will replace the original products.

For example, if a customer were to add 2 bags of 1lb coffee to their cart, but accept an upsell offer for a 3lb bag of coffee, this condition would make it so the customer now has 2 bags of 3lb coffee in their cart.
