Manage Subscription Groups via the Shopify Admin Product Page

When using Subscriptions for Shopify Checkout you can manage an individual product’s subscription group from the product page in the Shopify admin.

This feature by Shopify allows you to add a product to a new or existing subscription group, remove a product from a subscription group, and edit the settings of the subscription group a product belongs to.

Add a Product to a New Subscription Group

Alert: When using this method you will only be able to add one product at a time to your group and have access to basic frequency options. To access advanced frequency options or add more than one product at a time, please create your groups within Bold Subscriptions. To create a new subscription group from the product page in the Shopify admin, please follow the steps below.

1. From within your Shopify admin, navigate to the product you would like to add to a new subscription group.
2. Navigate to Purchase options.
3. Click Add purchase option, then select Create new option.

   

4. Enter an Internal name for your subscription group.
5. Select a Subscription frequency. Select Days, Weeks, Months or Years.
6. Enter a Frequency name.
7. Optional: Select Add new frequency and repeat steps 5 - 7 for additional frequency intervals.

   

8. Optional: Select Offer a discount for subscribing. Choose Percentage off(%) or Amount off($) and enter a value.

   

9. Click Save.
10. Optional: Select Only show this product with these purchase options if you wish to offer this product for subscription only, then select Save.

Add a Product to an Existing Subscription Group

To add an individual product to an existing subscription group from the product page in the Shopify admin, please follow the steps below.

1. From within your Shopify admin, navigate to the product you would like to add to a new subscription group.
2. Navigate to Purchase options.
3. Click Add purchase option, then Select existing option.
4. Select the subscription group that you wish to add the product to.
5. Click Add to plan.

   

6. Optional: Select Only show this product with these purchase options if you wish to offer this product for subscription only, then select Save.

Edit a Product’s Subscription Group

Alert: Editing an individual product’s subscription group settings will change the settings for all products within the subscription group. To see all products (along with all setting options) within the subscription group, please access the subscription group via Bold Subscriptions.

To edit the subscription group settings from within the Shopify product’s admin page, please follow the steps below.

1. From within your Shopify admin, navigate to the product you would like to edit the subscription group for.
2. Navigate to Purchase options.
3. Select Manage.
4. Optional: Edit the internal name
5. Optional: Add a new frequency.
6. Optional: Remove an existing frequency by selecting Remove.

   

7. Optional: Change the discount.
8. Click Save.

Remove a Product from a Subscription Group

To remove a product from a subscription group, please follow the steps below.

1. From within your Shopify admin, navigate to the product you would like to remove from a subscription group.
2. Click Purchase options.
3. Select Remove.

   

4. Click Remove from plan.
