The way the app works is the customer can actually create a product with one SKU or multiple. For example, if you were selling Tablets in step 1, you would select an iPad type (that's a SKU) and then in step 2, if you offer a case that could be a SKU as well. It doesn't have to be a SKU though, it could be just a choice that doesn't affect the price and gets passed through as an attribute or "Note" attached details when they checkout. So when the final product is ordered it can represent many SKUs used to build their product or just one main SKU and all options that are not SKUs. Either works.
