Manual Sync FAQ

With the Draft Order method, the Manual Sync button is not needed. With the Variant method, this button is very important. By default, the Draft Orders method is supplied on new installs of Customer Specific Pricing, for detailed information on the different methods, visit Discount Methods in Customer Specific Pricing. Here are some of the most common questions regarding performing a manual sync in Customer Specific Pricing when used in the Variant method. Select the question to view the answer

The "Manually Sync Inventory" button will set the customer pricing variants as "in stock" when the base variant has stock added to it. It will also set the variants at 0 stock if the regular variant they were created from has 0 inventory.

The way customer pricing variant inventory works is as long as the base variant has inventory, the customer pricing variants will have infinite inventory, marked as N/A. They will deduct inventory from the base variant when purchases are made.

When the base variant runs out of inventory the customer pricing variants will show as 0. When the base variant gets stock again this button will have to be selected to set the customer pricing variant’s inventory back to infinite. It will also set the app's variants to 0 if the regular version of the variant is already out of stock.

This button should be selected after you change a regular variant's stock level from 0 to a positive number or if it's already at 0 and isn't displaying as sold out. Because app variants need to be created as having an inventory of "N/A" due to a Shopify API limitation, it's good practice to select this button whenever creating or editing a customer pricing group. This will ensure the app's variants have the appropriate inventory level.
