With Custom Pricing you can hide products on the storefront from regular customers or customers with a specific tag assigned to them.
This functionality will hide items from the search, collection, and product pages for specific customers. You can do this by assigning a "hide tag" to the product that you wish to hide.
Note: This functionality will only work with customer pricing tags. There is no way for Shopify to hide your product information without having a pricing tag to read.
To hide products from regular or tagged customer accounts, please follow these steps:
- From Shopify's admin, select Customers.
Enter Customer Name in the "Search" bar.
- Select the Customer Name.
- Under "Tags", enter your customer pricing tag.
Note: This is the name of the tag you want to hide products from.
- Press Enter.
- Select Save.
- Select Products.
Enter Product Name in the "search bar".
- Select Product Name.
Under "Tags", enter XXXX-HIDE.
Note: XXXX is the name of your customer pricing tag you entered in Step 4. Ensure HIDE is entered in all caps. To hide the product from all customers by default, you would use default-HIDE.
- Select Save.
- The tags you've placed on these products should be tested to ensure these items don't display for the related customers. Visit Verify Your Custom Pricing Install (Steps 6 - 10) for more information on how to verify that these tags have applied correctly. Please note that the related tags and customer accounts should be used instead of our Bold test account when verifying the hidden products.
