Bold Upsell integrates with Bold Subscriptions to allow you to upsell a one-time product to a subscription product in the upsell modal. This helps to convert one-time purchases into subscription purchases on your storefront.

Both Bold Subscriptions and Bold Upsell must be installed on the same store prior to the setup steps below. Both apps can be installed through the following links below:
Note: This integration only allows you to convert a one-time purchase into a subscription purchase. Cross-selling another subscription product is not available at this time.
With both apps installed, please use the following steps to create your upsell.
Step 1: Add Trigger Product into a Subscription Group
Within Bold Subscriptions, click Subscription groups.
Click Create subscription group.
Enter a Group name.
Note: This is an internal name, your customers don't see this.
Click Select Products.
Click the checkbox beside all of the products you'd like to include in the group.
Set your Subscription Frequency. Select Days, Weeks, Months or Years.
Note: All frequencies appear as selectable options in the upsell modal.
Click Show advanced options. There are a few different options to choose from depending on the frequency you have selected. These are as follows:
On purchase day: This causes the customer's subscription to renew based on the date of their initial purchase.
On specific day of the month: This causes the customer's subscription to renew on the same day every month; regardless of their date of purchase.
Custom occurrence: This allows you to set up custom logic for when your customers subscriptions renew. Additional choices show after selecting this option.
Note: If either of the last two options are selected, you have the ability to Use cutoff days.
Enter Frequency name.
Click Save Frequency.
- Optional: Click Add new frequency and repeat steps 7 - 10 for additional frequency intervals.
Click Offer a discount for subscribing.
Note: This provides a Subscribe & Save! incentive to your customers. Discounts applied within this area for Bold Subscriptions recur on every order for this product and appears in the upsell modal.
- Click Save Changes.
Note: Newly created subscription groups are activated on your storefront as soon as they are saved.
Step 2: Create Upsell Offer
- From within Upsell's admin, click Offers > Create Offer.
- Enter an internal name for your offer.
- Click Set A Trigger, then Product Page Pop-up, and click the Upsell option.
- Click Select Products.
- Click Add next to the product you would like to trigger the upsell offer.
- Click Continue with selected products.
- In the Upsell offer section, click Set an offer.
- Enter a Title and Description.
- Click Upsell a subscription.
- Optional: Click Set Date Range, and enter a Start Date and End Date.
- Click Save Offer.
Each time a customer converts a one time purchase into a subscription from an offer, Upsell records this data on the dashboard. Please visit View Upsell's Dashboard Metrics & Reporting for more details on the analytics available in Upsell.
