HTML is Displaying in the Description on the PayPal Purchase Page

If you see HTML displayed in the description on the PayPal purchase page, follow these steps to correct the problem:

  1. From "Shopify Admin", select Settings.

  2. Select General.

  3. Under "Standards and formats", next to "Currency", select Change formatting.

  4. Remove HTML from the fields.

    Note: In this case, the HTML is <span class="money"> and </span>. The ${{amount}} CAD should stay in place.

  5. Select Save.

  6. Select Apps.

  7. Select Recurring Memberships.

  8. Select Plans.

  9. Select Settings (the gear icon) next to the first plan.

  10. Select Edit.

  11. Select Save.

  12. Repeat steps 9 - 11 for each plan.

That's it!

Note: After saving each of your plans, you can put the HTML back into the currency settings. If you need to update the plan again in the future, you will need to follow these steps and remove the HTML from the currency settings again before you update your plan. Otherwise, the HTML will be back in the description.
