HTML is Displaying in the Description on the PayPal Purchase Page


With Bold Memberships, if you see HTML displayed in the description on the PayPal purchase page, please follow these steps to correct the problem:

  1. From Shopify's admin, select Settings.

    At the bottom-left of the Shopify menu, select Settings

  2. Select General.

    In the top-left corner, select the General setting

  3. Under "Store currency", select Change formatting.

    In the Store Currency section, select Change Formatting on the right-hand side

  4. Remove HTML from the fields.

    Note: In this case, the HTML is <span class="money"> and </span>. The ${{amount}} CAD should stay in place.

  5. Select Save.

    In the bottom-right corner, select Save

  6. From Shopify's admin, select Apps.

    Select the Apps option on the left-hand side of your Shopify admin

  7. Select Recurring Memberships.

    Select Recurring Memberships from your list of apps

  8. Select Plans.

    From the top navigation bar, select Plans

  9. Select Settings (the gear icon) next to the first plan.

    Next to the plan you want to adjust, select the gear icon (settings) to the far-right (under Actions)

  10. Select Edit.

    From within the dropdown menu, select Edit (fifth one down)

  11. Select Save.

    Note: After saving each of your plans, you can put the HTML back into the currency settings. If you need to update the plan again in the future, you will need to follow these steps and remove the HTML from the currency settings again before you update your plan. Otherwise, the HTML will be back in the description.

    In the top-right corner, select Save

  12. Repeat steps 9 - 11 for each plan.
