Create Conditional Logic with Product Options

Product Options allows you to create rules that will show or hide additional options to customers based on their previous selections. This is also referred to as 'product conditions'.

If your product has multiple options, but some of the options are only available once a customer chooses a specific option, then this is a great feature to use.

Note: Adding priced options is a Premium feature. Visit Change Your Price Plan in Product Options for more information on how to upgrade.

To set up conditional logic, please follow these steps:

  1. From Shopify's admin, select Apps.

Select the Apps option on the left-hand side of your Shopify admin

  2. Select Product Options by Bold.

Select Product Options by Bold from your list of apps

  3. Create 2 new options.

Note: Create one option that will show up first. Then, create a second option that will be shown as a result of the first option being selected.

  4. Select List of Conditions.

From the Product Options navigation bar, select List of Conditions

  5.  Select Option Set drop-down menu and choose your option set.

On the left-hand side, open the drop-down and select your option set

  6. Select Create New Condition.

On the left-hand side underneath your option set selection, choose Create New Condition

  7. Complete Rules:
    1. If (select Option Set).
    2. Step (select "is equal to" or "is not equal to").
    3. Select an Option.

Fill out your rules, which are positioned horizontally; choose the option set, is equal to or not equal to, and the option

  8. Complete Actions:
    1. Then (select "show" or "hide").
    2. Select Option step.

Fill out your rules, which are positioned horizontally; choose show or hide, and your desired option set

  9. Select Save.

In the bottom-right corner, select Save

  • You do not want the same product to appear in more than one option set.
  • Do not use both show and hide; pick one and stick with it. The app knows to do the opposite if the condition is not met.
  • Keep it simple to avoid conflicts in rules.
