Specific Types of Discount Codes in Recurring Orders

This article will help you to create specific types of discount codes you might be unsure of how to. Configuring a discount code is found under the main Discount Codes tab in the Recurring Orders app.

Scenario: Get 100% off your first order!

Your subscription services might be new, and you're looking to promote it, or offer free initial orders to loyal customers or popular bloggers!

A coupon of this style will only work in the Recurring Orders checkout, and won't apply properly to an existing subscription when applied.

Note: Make sure to specify which product(s) you want this coupon to apply to, so it won't take 100% every product in their cart - just the one you have on promotion! Or, apply it to all products, that is up to you! Feel free to set an expiry date if it's a promotion you're only running for a little while.

Scenario: Get 50% off your first 2 orders!

If you want to give a customer a % off, and only have it apply to a specific # of orders in their subscription, you would create your coupon code as shown below.

Of course, adjust the % or # of orders to whatever you prefer for your campaign.

Limitations: If a customer creates another subscription order (so they now have 2 separate subscriptions), and they apply the same code, it will "take" one of their uses - and lose one of the discounts they would have got on their next recurring order.

Scenario: FREE SHIPPING!

If you want to offer certain special customers free shipping, create a free shipping code. You can offer this to new and even existing subscribers!

You can make this specific to a country, and specify which shipping rates you want it to apply to by cost.

You can set leave the option "How many orders can this discount code be applied to per customer?" unchecked, and have it apply to all orders indefinitely, or check off the box; and specify how many orders in a row you want them to get this free shipping on!
