Connect your Stripe or PayPal Account to Bold Memberships

Overview

Before customers can purchase memberships, you need to connect to a payment gateway. Bold Memberships integrates with both Stripe and PayPal.

Note: Stripe users will be charged a 1% transaction fee on top of any fees you may incur for using their payment gateway. PayPal users are not subject to this fee.

To add a payment gateway, please follow these steps:

  1. From Shopify's admin, select Apps.

    Select the Apps option on the left-hand side of your Shopify admin

  2. Select Recurring Memberships.

    Select Recurring Memberships from your list of apps

  3. Select Settings.

    From the top navigation bar, select Settings

  4. Select General Settings.

    On the left-hand side, select General Settings

  5. Select a payment gateway:

    The first option underneath General Settings is Connect PayPal Account, and directly below that is Connect Stripe Account. Select the appropriate payment gateway to connect

    • Connect PayPal Account; or
      1. Enter your Email and Password and select Log In.

        Select Connect PayPal Account, then enter your PayPal login information

      2. Select Grant Permission.

        At the bottom on the left side, select Grant Permission

    • Connect Stripe Account.
      1. Select Sign in with Stripe to connect.

        Select Connect Stripe Account, then select Sign in with Stripe to connect, on the right-hand side

      2. Enter your Email and Password and select Sign in to your account.

      3. Select the checkbox to confirm I'm not a robot.

  6. Select Save.

    Select Save in the bottom-right corner

Now that you've got your payment gateway set up, you can create a membership plan. If you'd like, you can also add a buy button or a Memberships widget to your pages, which customers can use to sign up for your membership plan.
