Google Analytics - Cross Domain Tracking with Bold Subscriptions

Follow

Google Analytics allows you to maintain tracking sessions across different domains that your website may have. Because Bold Subscriptions' checkout takes place on a different domain (recurringcheckout.com) than your Shopify store, you need to use it to track your customers through the entire checkout process.

Note: Ensure you have followed these steps: Google Analytics - Tracking Product & Bold Subscriptions Information before completing the steps on this page.

If you know where your existing Google Analytics tracking code is, you can replace it with what is shown here or follow these steps to set it up:

  1. From Shopify's admin, select Online Store.

    select online store

  2. Select Preferences.

    select preferences

  3. Copy and paste this code in the Google Analytics account box:
    <script>
    ga('create', 'YOUR GOOGLE ANALYTICS ID HERE LIKE UA-XXXXX-Y', 'auto', {allowLinker: true});
    ga('require', 'linker');
    ga('linker:autoLink', ['your custom domain mystore.com', 'your myshopify domain mystore.myshopify.com', 'recurringcheckout.com'], false, true);
    </script>

    copy and paste this code

  4. Replace YOUR GOOGLE ANALYTICS ID HERE LIKE UA-XXXXX-Y with your Google Analytics ID.

    Note: Your Google Analytics ID will be something like "UA-123456-7".

    replace the ID

  5. Replace your custom domain mystore.com with your domain name.

    Note: Your custom domain will be something like "mystore.com".

    customize the code

  6. Replace your myshopify domain mystore.myshopify.com with your myshopify domain.

    Note: Your myshopify domain will be something like "mystore.myshopify.com".

    replace the code

  7. Select Save

    select save

That's it!
