Place a Test Order in Bold Checkout

Once Bold Checkout is fully set up, it's best to place a test order to ensure everything is set up properly.

You can enable development mode in Bold checkout to place test orders through a test payment gateway. Placing a test order in development mode allows you to test as many orders as you like, without being subject to charges.

This article shows you how to place a test order in Bold Checkout using development mode.

Enable development mode in Bold Checkout

1. Log into Bold Account Center and open Bold Checkout.
2. From within Bold Checkout, navigate to Payment options > Payment gateways.
3. Move the toggle next to Development mode to the right to enable it.
4. Click Search development gateways, and connect Bold Test Gateway or your preferred gateway using your sandbox credentials.

Place a test order

To place a test order while in development mode, please follow the steps below.

1. From your storefront, add a product to your cart, and proceed to the checkout.
2. Proceed through the checkout. Enter your Customer information and Shipping method.
3. On the payment information section/page, use your development payment gateway's test payment card information.
   1. For example, for the Bold Test Gateway, use 4111 1111 1111 1111 to simulate a successful payment. Enter a properly formatted date future date for the expiry date, and use any three digits for the CVV number.
4. Click Complete Order.
5. In the Bold Checkout admin, navigate to Orders > All Orders.
6. Ensure the order you placed appears here as Paid.
