How to troubleshoot customer's inability to update credit card information?

My customer is unable to update their credit card information related to their subscription. The customer received the message "Failed to update your payment details. Please try again." after inputting their information.

As all subscriptions must use the Shopify Checkout, the customer's payment information is stored in Shopify. This issue may be caused by a problem with Shopify's payment system or an issue with the customer's input. You can reach out to Shopify support for help with this matter.
