How can I swap a product variant that is no longer being sold to a new variant within Bold Subscriptions without losing existing customer subscriptions?
If you need to perform the swap on many subscriptions at once, you can perform a bulk product swap to switch the old variant to the new one. Once the swap is complete and verified, you can then delete the old variant in your Shopify admin if needed.
First, ensure the variant needed is added to the subscription group. Then, perform the bulk swap using these steps:
- In Bold Subscriptions, navigate to Subscriptions > Bulk Updates.
- Select "Create a bulk update".
- Using the dropdown menu under "Update type", select "Swap products".
- Click "Select Products".
- Select the variant you want to swap out of your customers’ existing subscriptions, and then click "Confirm".
- Click "Choose new Product".
- Select the new variant, and click "Confirm".
- Both products are displayed in the admin. Review these to ensure they are correct.
- Click "Confirm Changes".
- Click "Start Update".
- Recommended: Select Download Summary.
