Xero Sync allows you to import your products from your Xero account to your Shopify store.
This article explains what happens when your products are imported from Xero to Shopify and shows you how to perform an export.
Functionality
When importing your products from Xero to Shopify, mappings are created, and all inventory tracked and non-inventory tracked products are imported. In addition, inventory levels on previously imported or mapped products are updated to the levels shown in Xero.
Note: Products set to inactive in Xero are also included in the import. This is a known issue that our team is currently working to resolve.
Important considerations
When importing products from Shopify to Xero, all products are imported as non-inventory tracked products. If you would like to track inventory, you must update the imported products in Xero to contain inventory. When tracking inventory, the quantities are reduced on mapped inventory products every time an order is exported with Xero Sync.
Setup
- Open Xero Sync.
- From the Xero Sync home page, scroll down to the Import Xero Products to Shopify section.
- Click Import Products.
- Click Import Products again.
Once the above steps are completed, Xero Sync begins importing your products. The amount of time it takes depends on the amount of items you are importing. A green progress bar is displayed to let you know the status of your import.
