Enable and Edit Your Referral Program

Overview

Loyalty Points gives you the ability to offer a referral program to your customers. You can use this program to offer reward points to your existing customers when they refer new customers. You're also able to provide new customers with a discount on their first order as an incentive to sign up.

To enable and edit your referral program, please follow these steps:

  1. From Shopify's admin, select Apps.

    Select the Apps option on the left-hand side of your Shopify admin

  2. Select Bold Loyalty Points.

    Select Bold Loyalty Points from your list of apps

  3. Select Referral Program.

    From the side navigation bar, select Referral Program (fourth one down)

  4. Under "Referred Customer", enter a discount amount.

    Underneath Referred Customer, enter the discount amount you want new customers to receive

  5. Select the Discount type.

    From the dropdown menu to the right of the discount amount, choose the discount type (dollar off, or percentage off)

  6. Select Set minimum order amount (optional).

    Directly underneath, select the Set Minimum Order Amount checkbox

  7. Enter a Minimum order amount (optional).

    Note: This is the purchase amount before taxes.

    In the textbox under that, enter in the minimum order amount (in dollars) that a customer needs to make before taxes in order to get the discount

  8. Under "Current Member", enter a reward points amount.

    On the right-hand side underneath Current Member, enter in the number of points the referring member will receive when the new customer (referral) makes a purchase

  9. Select Set wait period until points are received (optional).

    Directly underneath, select the Set Wait Period Until Points Are Received checkbox

  10. Enter the number of days to wait (optional).

    In the textbox under that, enter in a number of days that a customer neds to wait until their points are received

  11. Adjust the Default sharing message accordingly.

    In the Default Sharing Message section, use the text box on the right to change the message that new customers will see when they are referred

  12. Select Enable referral program.

    At the top of the page, select the Enable Referral Program toggle to turn it on

  13. Select Save Changes.

    At the top-right, select Save Changes

Once enabled, the referral option should display within your customer widget like so:
