Shopify Plus Multiple Currencies Feature and Bold Apps

Follow

Shopify introduced a feature for Shopify Plus merchants that allows them to show prices and charge customers in their local currency.

Due to the way this feature works, some of Bold's apps will have their pricing affected.

The following apps will be affected:

We strongly recommend that merchants disable this functionality to avoid display issues with your product pricing.

To disable Shopify's multiple currency feature, please follow these steps:

  1. From Shopify's admin, select Settings.
  2. Select Payment providers.
  3. Under "Shopify Payments", select Edit.
  4. Under "Accepted Currencies", disable all currencies that are not the store's default currency.
  5. Select Save.

If you have any further questions, or require further assistance, please contact our Merchant Success team.

  • Does Bold MC App work with Shopify Plus? Or does it need to be uninstalled and we need to use Shopify's Currency Selector?

  • Hey Dave!

Thanks so much for reaching out :) Yes, our Multi-Currency app will work fine on a Shopify Plus store. The main issue comes with using Shopify Plus' currency selection feature, as this makes changes to your pricing that our apps are not aware of.This can cause issues with how your product prices display on your store.

We recommend disabling Shopify's multi-currency feature and using a combination of our Multi-Currency and Cashier apps to sell in multiple currencies on your site:

Please let us know if you have any further questions from here Dave (support@boldcommerce.com) and we'll be more than happy to assist further!

    Cheers,
