Process a Credit Return with Returns Manager

Overview

Returns Manager gives you the ability to accept returns for store credit. Your customers are able to attach notes to their return and specify that they wish to receive store credit for their order instead.

Note: This feature uses Shopify's Gift Card functionality (links to Shopify) to offer store credit. Returns Manager is not able to offer credit from directly within its admin.

To process a return for credit, please follow these steps:

  1. From Shopify's admin, select Apps.

  2. Select Returns Manager by Bold.

  3. Select Returns.

  4. Select Pending Requests.

  5. Select Approve next to the return you would like to process.

  6. Select OK.

  7. Select Active Returns.

  8. Find the return you just approved.

  9. Under "Customer Note", select Open.

  10. Take note of the credit type your customer wishes to exchange for.

  11. Select OK.

  12. From Shopify's admin, select Products.

  13. Select Gift cards.

  14. Select Issue gift card.

  15. Edit the Code (optional).

  16. Select the Initial value.

    • If you select Other, enter the gift card amount.

  17. Enter the customer name.

  18. Select the customer.

  19. Edit the expiration date (optional).

    • If you enable an expiration date, select the date.

  20. Enter a Note for the customer.

  21. Select Issue gift card.

    Note: After selecting Issue gift card, your customer will be emailed their gift card through Shopify.

Once you've gotten confirmation from your customer that they've received their gift card and are satisfied with the return process, you can archive their return.
