Using Braintree with Cashier & Subscriptions

Bold Cashier and Bold Subscriptions are both able to use Braintree as a payment gateway provider. There are a few settings that need to be enabled within your Braintree account in order for these apps to process your customers' payments correctly.

By default, Braintree will not require your customers to enter their CVV (CVC) information. This could potentially cause issues with customers entering stolen or fraudulent credit card information.

Once these settings are enabled, your customers will be required to verify their CVV information.

To enable these settings within your Braintree account, please follow these steps:

  1. Navigate to Braintree's home page and select Log in +.

  2. Select Log in.

  3. Enter you account credentials.

  4. Select Log In.

  5. Select the gear icon in the top-right corner.

    Note: This article uses screenshots from a "sandbox" Braintree account. Your live Braintree account may look slightly different.

  6. Select Processing.

  7. Select Options beside the "CVV" section.

  8. Select the CVV does not match (when provided) (N) option.

    Note: A separate dropdown menu will display underneath this when selected. You'll want to leave the For Any Transaction option selected.

    Note: A separate dropdown menu will display underneath this when selected. You'll want to leave the For Any Transaction option selected.

  10. Select Save.

    Note: After selecting Save, you should be brought back to the "Processing" section of your Braintree admin.

  11. Select Enable on the "Card Verification" section.
