Shopify will display all of these orders in your site's default currency. Your Shopify admin will not identify and convert these orders into the customer's local currency.
The amount shown on the order will be the original cost of their order in your store's default currency.
For example: Your store is in USD and the customer pays in CAD. The cost of the subscription purchased was $25 USD, but your customer paid $35 CAD; the order will show $25 USD as the amount paid.
In the above example, the store's currency is New Zealand Dollars but this customer paid in Canadian Dollars. The actual amount this customer paid was $207.65 CAD.
When your customers are viewing their orders through the manage subscription page, they will show in the currency they paid in.
The amount shown will match the exact amount your customers have paid for their orders.
Their personal conversion rate will also be shown within this section.
The exchange rate that your customers receive will be the same rate from when they first placed their subscription order. If this rate fluctuates, the conversion amount will stay the same. Any product adjustments, shipping costs, or quantity changes will use this same exchange rate.
This means that each subscription will have their own exchange rate associated with the order; unless two customers place an order in the same currency, at relatively the same time of day.
Our exchange rates are pulled from Open Exchange Rates every couple of hours to keep up with the most current market information.
Subscriptions' analytics and reporting sections will show these orders in the store's default currency.
This is done to simplify your reporting process, and only show the most relevant currency information to your store.
Because of the number of currencies your store could accept, this would cause complications in how to display this information properly.
Your payment gateways must also be set up to accept any additional foreign currencies.
