Taxes in Bold Subscriptions V1

  • Updated

Bold Subscriptions V1  allows you to use Shopify's tax rates for your customer's subscription purchases. This allows you to set both customer- and product-specific taxes.

Using Shopify taxes ensures consistency throughout your orders, as the rates being applied to your products are being pulled from your Shopify tax settings.

Making changes or updates to your tax settings requires an adjustment to be made by our Customer Success team. Please contact us for more details.

Enabling the Shopify tax setting can be done within the Subscriptions app under Settings > Taxes > Select Use Shopify tax rates.

This article is relevant to Subscriptions V1. If you have Subscriptions for Shopify Checkout on your store, please visit Set Up Subscriptions for Shopify Checkout. If you are unsure of which version of Bold Subscriptions you have, please visit Identify Your Version of Bold Subscriptions

Creating a global tax rate overrides all of your current subscription tax settings.

Global tax rates allow you to create a set percentage that gets applied to all orders made on your store.

Global tax rates allow you to default all of your order's taxes to 8.0%.

Our recurring checkout has its own US tax system which can be enabled if you ship products within the United States.

This setting allows you to select rates from Bold Subscriptions for locations that your business has a physical presence in.

If you have an office in California and a warehouse in New York, you would add both California and New York.

  1. From the Shopify admin, Select Apps.
  2. Select Bold Subscriptions V1.
  3. Select Settings, then Taxes.
  4. Select I want to specify taxes automatically for United States.
  5. Adjust the County, Municipal and State Taxes and Tax Overrides if needed.
  6. Select Don't set a global tax rat.

Note: If you would like to Set global tax rate to a specific amount, select that radio button instead and add a global rate percentage.

  7. Select Save.
