Bold Subscriptions V1 allows you to choose between three different methods of cart modes on your store. This defines how your customers reaches the checkout page when making a purchase. They can either go directly to the checkout page when making a purchase, or be able to continue shopping after adding a subscription to their cart.
The most popular methods are the Single Product, or Multiple Products cart modes. For more information and examples on how each of these modes could benefit your store, please review the following information.
When switching between recurring and the other options for cart modes on your store, the subscription groups that you have already created will be lost. They will have to be created again in order to be compatible with your new cart mode selection. Changing cart modes on your store will also complete faster if you Refresh the Cache on your Bold Subscriptions V1 app.
Our most popular cart mode is Multiple Products mode. This allows your customers to buy both one-time and recurring purchases in the same cart. With this method, the option to subscribe to your products will appear on your product page in the form of a widget.
Once your customers choose their recurring interval length and add a subscription to their cart, they will be able to continue shopping.
This mode is similar to the Single Product method, below. The main difference is when a customer chooses to buy a subscription, it is added to their cart and lets them continue shopping. They can add more recurring products at different intervals, and they can add products that are not recurring all in the same cart.
If your store offers both subscription and one-time purchase products, this mode would be recommended for your store. This ensures that your customers can add multiple items to their cart without checking out.
Our Single Product mode is similar to the Multiple products mode but with one exception: Upon selecting the "Complete Subscription" option on the product page, your customer will be taken directly to the checkout without the ability to continue shopping.
When your customers find a product they like, there will be a subscription widget on the product page that allows them to select the recurring subscriptions interval. This could be weekly, monthly, etc. Once this is selected, it will take your customer directly to the checkout page of your store.
This is similar to the Buy Now buttons that you see on online stores such as Amazon, but would apply to all your products.
With recurring cart mode, customers can subscribe to every product in your store. This places the Subscription widget on your regular Shopify cart page instead of displaying on the product pages.
This allows your customers to build a shopping cart with multiple products, and then select whether or not to subscribe to the whole cart of products. Please keep in mind that they will be required to subscribe to every item within the cart, and will be unable to just subscribe to certain products individually.
This method is most popular for stores where all products are offered as a subscription, such as local delivery or grocery services.
This cart mode will allow your customers to add products to the cart normally, and then will select the subscription information on the entire cart at the checkout. This includes selecting an interval such as weekly, monthly, etc.
Change the Cart Mode
Single or Multiple Cart Mode
To get started with our two standard cart modes, please follow these steps:
- From your Shopify's admin, select Apps.
- Select Bold Subscriptions V1.
- Select Subscriptions > Cart Mode.
- Under "Select your Recurring Style", select Single Product or Multiple Products.
Recurring Cart Mode
To get started with Recurring Cart mode, please follow these steps:
- From the Bold Subscriptions V1 app, select Subscriptions, then Cart Mode.
- Under "Select Your Recurring Style", select Recurring Cart.
- Under "Step 1: Set up recurring rules", select the "recurring intervals you would like to offer."
This setting provides the options for daily, weekly, monthly, and/or yearly shipment options to your customers.
- Enter a Maximum Interval Length.
This option allows you to choose the Maximum options available to your customers
If you are selecting Recurring Cart cart mode, you will have to select the recurring intervals you would like to offer. For example, Shipping every "2" months.
- Enter a Recurring Discount (optional).
This is a percentage discount offered to your customers as an incentive for subscribing.
- Select Save.
