Configuring the Language Settings in Bold Subscriptions

Overview

Bold Subscriptions allows you to change the wording and language in almost all of major features and pages. All language within our app populates in English by default, so this gives you the freedom to make adjustments to our app to display in a different language or verbiage on your store front.

At this time, the text displayed through Bold Subscriptions is only able to operate in one language at a time. This means that the settings would all have to be customized the exact way you would like them to display on your store front.

If your store uses a third party app for translating, then this information should be automatically adjusted on your store. If you notice anything that is not translating properly from within our app, please reach out to our Merchant Success Team for further review.

To make changes to the language settings, please follow these steps:

  1. From Shopify's admin, select Apps.
  2. Select Bold Subscriptions.
  3. Select Settings, then Language Settings.
  4. Select the tab for the page you want to edit.

The information below will go over what each particular section of the Bold Subscriptions Language setting does, how it can be triggered, and what it looks like.

Widget Tab:

This tab shows verbiage that appears on the Subscriptions widget on your product pages.

The Language Setting: Brief description of what changes:
Auto Replenish Product This adjusts the verbiage for the title that appears on the widget. In the example below, it is set to, "Try This Subscription Product!"
Auto Replenish Cart This shows up when the widget appears in the cart page. If your store is set to Recurring Cart mode, you will be able to adjust how this is worded.
One-time purchase [one-time-price] This shows up on the widget, and is the wording for when your customers choose to make it a "one-time purchase"
Subscribe This is shown on the widget, and is the wording for when your customers choose to subscribe to the product.

An example of all the above options can be found within this photo:

For the following language settings below, these options are relevant depending on how your store's subscription model and settings are currently set up. The description goes through what scenarios would cause the settings to appear.

For questions, please contact our Merchant Success Team.

The Language Setting: Brief description of what changes:
Discount Switch Initial. Merge fields available [discount_price] and [num_orders]. This is for Dynamic discounts in the subscription. It shows for when you decide to "Offer different discounts on initial and recurring orders" within your Subscription settings. In this case, you can offer a discount on the first x number of orders, and a different discount on all remaining orders.

For example, "Save 50% on your first 5 orders, and 25% on all remaining orders"
Discount Switch Initial (Single Order). Merge fields available: [discount_price], [amount_discounted] and [discount_percentage]. This is for Dynamic discounts in the subscription. It shows when you decide to "Offer different discounts on initial and recurring orders". In this case, you can offer a discount on the first order and a different discount on all remaining orders.

For example, "Save 35% on your first order, and 15% on all remaining orders".
Discount Switch Recurring. Merge fields available: [discount_price], [amount_discounted] and [discount_percentage]. This is for Dynamic discounts in the subscription. It shows when you decide to "Offer different discounts on initial and recurring orders". This will appear as long as the discount on all remaining orders are not 0%. This targets how the second half of the discount test appears.

For example: the text for only "and 15% on all remaining orders".

The first two options above target this whole area, where the Discount Switch Recurring will only target the highlighted area:

The Language Setting: Brief description of what changes:
Ongoing This appears on the widget when you set up subscriptions of limited lengths and checked the "Add ongoing option". This option simply gives your customers the ability to not set a limit on their subscription purchases.
and save [discount_percentage] ([discount_price]) on all remaining orders after the first [num_orders] orders. This adjusts the wording in the case that your subscription has a 0% discount up front, and then changes to discounting future orders. This rewards customers for their ongoing subscription loyalty.

For example, "Subscribe and save 20% ($19.99) on all remaining orders after the first 4 orders".
and save [discount_percentage] ([discount_price]) on all remaining orders after the first order. if the discount is given on recurring orders, rather than the first order - this text would be adjusted.

For example, "Subscribe and save 20% (19.99) on all remaining orders after the first order."
One-time purchase Convertible [one_time_price] This is for one-time purchases on Convertible type subscriptions. It will change the "one-time purchase" area on the widget to display alternative text for this scenario.
