Setup Bold Subscriptions Pro & Bold Checkout Integration


Bold Subscriptions Pro integrates with Bold Checkout to provide your store with the benefits of having its own built-in checkout, and the ability to offer subscription options to your customers.

This comprehensive step-by-step is for stores that are setting up both Bold Checkout and Subscriptions Pro at the same time.

Let's get started!




  1. Install the Bold Checkout app, and Bold Subscriptions Pro app to your BigCommerce store

    Visit Bold Commerce - Subscriptions to install the Subscriptions app on your store.

  2. Connect your Payment Gateway in Bold Checkout

    Checkout uses its own version of the BigCommerce checkout to process its orders. Because of this, the app needs an attached payment gateway in order to accept payments for your customers orders.

    Note: If you are already actively using either one of these apps, you need to use the same payment gateway in order for this integration to work correctly.

  3. Add Shipping Zones

    Within Bold Checkout, the shipping zones are how the app determines where your store will ship to, and how much it will cost to ship to that region of the world.

  4. Set up Tax Settings

    For Checkout to charge taxes on your products, there must be a tax setting specified within Checkout admin.

  5. Test the Checkout Functionality

    We strongly suggest testing Checkouts functionality on a back-up theme before using the app on your main checkout. If any steps were missed during the set-up process, your customers temporarily may not be able to check-out on your website.

    Note: This is also completed to ensure that your payment gateway is set-up, and working correctly.

  6. Set up Bold Subscriptions Pro

    Before fully completing this integration, Bold Subscriptions Pro should be set up as well.

  7. Contact our Merchant Success Team

    To complete this integration, there a few steps that our team needs to take in order for the apps to properly communicate with one another.

    Note: If you are already actively using Subscriptions Pro, it may take 2-3 business days for us to enable the integration. Your current subscription customers need to be moved from Subscriptions Pro to Checkout on our server side.

  8. Enable the Bold Subscriptions Pro Integration

Once you've received a confirmation message from our team, please follow these steps to finish this integration: 

  1. From BigCommerce's admin, Select Apps.
  2. Select Bold Checkout.
  3. Select Marketplace.
  4. Select Install on the "Bold Subscriptions 2" option.
  5. Select the PCI compliance checkbox.
  6. Select Confirm.
  7. Select Confirm Payment.
  8. Enter your billing information, then payment information.
  9. Select Confirm, then Allow.
