Integrations with Bold apps

Bold Bundles is a robust e-commerce app that gives you the ability to offer discounts on groups of products within your store. These items must be purchased together in order to reward your customers with a discount.

Discounts can be offered across specific products or collections within your store. You're also able to create unique buy one get one (BOGO) offers that will provide your customers with additional free products for making purchases on your store.

To create these discounted products, Bold Bundles generally creates a hidden product variant within your Shopify admin that is discounted. Once the proper bundle of products is purchased, it will add those discounted variants to the order.

With the integration for Bold Bundles with Cashier, your store will be able to provide these discounts to your customers without having to create additional discount variants within your store.

Requirements

This integration requires Version 3 of Bundles. This version uses the Accelerated Method of discounting; Which is able to pass your bundle group pricing to Cashier correctly.

Please visit Identify Your Bold Bundles Version for steps on identifying your Bundles version and for steps on how to figure out which version of the app is currently active on your Shopify store.

If your store is currently on Version 1 or 2 of Bold Bundles, please visit Bold Bundles V3 Upgrade & Process to learn more about how to upgrade the app.

Note: Bundles V1 must be upgraded to V2 before the upgrade to V3 can be completed. You're not able to move directly from V1 to V3.

If you have any issues during the upgrade process, please reach out to our Customer Success team.

Setup

This step-by-step is for your store if you have not yet activated the Bold Pricing integration with Cashier. This is required in order to have our two apps communicate with one another.

  1. From the Shopify admin, select Apps.
  2. Select Bold Cashier.
  3. Select Marketplace.
  4. Select Install on the Bold Pricing option.
  5. Select Allow.

Now that this integration is activated, you are now able to get started with building the Bold Bundles app! Please review our Bold Bundles Getting Started article for a walkthrough on setting this up on your store.

Limitations

This integration is currently incompatible with Bold Subscriptions. Due to the different way these apps use the add-to-cart button on the storefront, they are unable to work together.

Third party checkouts such as Amazon Pay, Paypal, Apple Pay, Google Pay, etc should also be hidden from the cart and product pages, and only visible within your store's checkout. This will ensure that the discounts are properly applied for your Bold Bundles purchases.

Other third party discounting apps may have troubles working with bundled products, depending on how they discount the products on your store.

Additional Integrations

We pride ourselves in our ability to make our apps work together, to ensure that you have plenty of options for adding great features to your Shopify stores. For more information on how Bundles integrates with other Bold products, please visit Bold Bundles' Bold Integrations

Bold Cashier is integrated with Bold Custom Pricing. This gives your customers the ability to receive custom pricing discounts while using the Cashier's checkout.

Using Shopify's Discount Code connector, your wholesale customers are able to use discount codes at the checkout. This works with all discounting methods of Custom Pricing.

To enable this integration, open our Bold Cashier app and navigate to Marketplace. From here, select Enable on the "Bold Custom Pricing (Wholesale & Quantity Breaks)" option.

Selecting this option will automatically ensure that your Custom Pricing app is on the correct plans to integrate with Bold Cashier.

Bold Cashier integrates with Bold Subscriptions to provide your store with the benefits of using Cashier, with the ability to offer subscription options to your customers.

The instructions within this article are for stores who are just starting to use Bold Subscriptions, and want to integrate the app with Cashier right away. If you are already actively using Subscriptions on your store, please reach out to our Customer Success team for further assistance.

Setup

  1. Install Bold Subscriptions to your Shopify store

This integration requires both Bold Cashier & Bold Subscriptions be installed to your Shopify store. Bold Subscriptions does also require a liquid code installation to your themes code, which ensures that the widget correctly appears on your product pages, and orders go through the correct checkout.

For more information, please visit our Liquid Code Installation for Bold Subscriptions article.

  2. Ensure your Cashier settings are completely set up

A lot of information that is used in Bold Cashier will be pulled to Subscriptions, ensuring the information is consistent. It's important that your Cashier is set up with a payment gateway, shipping, and the tax settings have been reviewed.

  3. Create your Bold Subscriptions

Building your Subscription groups is important for our apps to know which product pages the subscription widgets need to be placed on. Please visit our article on Setting up Bold Subscriptions for more information.

  4. Contact our Customer Success Team

To complete this integration, there are a few steps that our team needs to take in order for our apps to properly communicate with one another. If you are already actively using Bold Subscriptions, it may take 2-3 business days for us to enable the integration.

If you already have Bold Subscriptions installed, and you have existing subscribers, these customers will need to be moved from Subscriptions to Cashier on our server side. Please reach out to our Customer Success team for further assistance with the integration.

  5. Enable the Bold Subscriptions Integration

Once you've received a confirmation message from our team, please follow these steps to complete the integration:

When integrating Bold Upsell & Bold Cashier together, it adds the additional functionality of presenting an Upsell after Checkout offer to your customers.

This gives you the flexibility to offer a product to your customers in the checkout area, after their order information has been provided. The customer can then accept the item without having to re-enter their payment information.

The timer also allows you to set a sense of urgency to the offer. You can set this timer between 1-5 minutes.

Multi-Currency can display any currency on your storefront, and gives your customers the flexibility to pay in the currency of their choice.

  2. Select Enable on the Multi-Currency option.
  3. Navigate back to the Apps section of your Shopify admin and select Multi-Currency.
  4. Select the gear icon next to the currency you want to accept on the storefront.

  6. Select Save.

Frequently Asked Questions

Do all payment gateways convert currencies?

  • Not all payment gateways convert currencies. Some only convert certain currencies, and not all gateways will work for your needs. We strongly suggest researching what payment gateway providers offer in terms of currency conversion and other features.

Can I create a draft order and send it to a customer in their own currency?

  • The currency used by Cashier is defined by the currency that is being viewed on the cart before checking out. If you send your customer a draft order, it will use the store’s default currency.

Can I use PayPal with Multi-Currency and still allow customers to checkout in their desired currency?

  • Yes, you can set up a Braintree/PayPal account. You will need to create sub-accounts for the different currencies you want to accept (Braintree/PayPal can accept approximately 25 currencies) and connect those sub-accounts to Cashier. Visit Using Braintree with Multi-Currency for more information.

Can I have a specific price on my products for different currencies?
