Place a Test Order in Bold Checkout

Once Bold Checkout's been setup, we highly recommend testing the checkout to ensure everything is functioning properly.

This article outlines how to place a test order with Bold Checkout.

Enable Development Mode in Checkout

Before you enable Bold Checkout, we highly recommend placing a test order to ensure everything is working as it should.

Bold Checkout offers the ability to enable development mode, which allows you to connect a "dummy" payment gateway for testing purposes.

1. From your WordPress Admin, navigate to WooCommerce > Bold. 
2. Select Open under Bold Checkout.
3. Select Payment Options, then Payment Gateways.
4. Select the toggle to enable Development Mode.

   Note: This will have to be turned off again when you would like Checkout to go live again on your store.

5. Once Development mode has been enabled, you can proceed with placing a test order.

Place a Test Order

Before placing a test order, it's recommended enabling development mode first.

Once development mode has been enabled and you've connected the "dummy" payment gateway, you may create as many test orders as you'd like - the "dummy" payment gateway will not charge you real funds.

It's best to try as many different scenarios as possible when testing just to ensure everything is set up properly.

1. From your storefront, add products to your cart.
2. Select Checkout.
3. Ensure the URL in the address bar now begins with cashier.boldcommerce.com.

   

4. Proceed through the Checkout, and enter your Customer Information or Log in.
5. Enter the following Test Payment Card information:
    

   Card Type	Good Card Number	Failed / Declined Card Number
   Visa	4111 1111 1111 1111	4012 8888 8888 1881

6. Select Complete Order.
7. From your WordPress Admin, navigate to WooCommerce > Bold after receiving the Order Confirmation Email. 
8. Select Open under Bold Checkout.
9. Select Orders, then All Orders.
10. Ensure the order you placed appears here as Captured.
