Bold Checkout allows you to fully customize almost all of the language within your checkout.
Please select an option below to view more information.
When Bold Checkout's first installed onto your store, the default language will be English.
You may import as many languages as you'd like.
- From within the Bold Checkout admin, select Settings > Language Settings.
- Under Checkout Language, select Import Languages.
- Select your desired language from the dropdown menu.
- Select Translate and Import.
After a language has been imported, it will be available to all of your customers from within a dropdown in the checkout.
Don't see a language you need in the import list? You can manually add any other language from scratch within Bold Checkout.
- From within the Bold Checkout admin, select Settings > Language Settings.
- Select Create a Language.
- Enter a language name and adjust the verbiage accordingly.
- Select Save.
Once each section has been filled out, select Save either at the top or the bottom of the page.
Once the language has been saved, it will be available to all of your customers from within a dropdown in the checkout.
- From within the Bold Checkout admin, select Settings > Language Settings.
- Select the pencil icon next to the language you'd like to edit.
- Make your desired changes.
- Select Save.
Note: You can select Reset All in order to revert all changes back to the original.
Bold Checkout's default language is English, but this can be changed.
Because Bold Checkout doesn't have a geolocation feature to automatically change your customer's language based on their IP address, English will be used for any customer that enters the checkout.
We recommend setting the default language to match either your store's default currency, or a language from the region that most commonly views your store.
Example
If your store's default language is English, but the majority of your customers are from Italy, setting the default language to Italian may help with conversion.
- From within the Bold Checkout admin, select Settings > Language Settings.
- Under Default Checkout Language, select an imported language from the dropdown menu.
- Select Set as Default.
Note: In order to delete a language, it must not be set to the default language.
- Both Latin and non-Latin languages are supported, but the Country and Province / State fields cannot be translated.
- The layout of your checkout's address fields cannot be changed.
