Why do I have to add a shipping address to edit my customer's pickup order?

My customer does not need a shipping address since he is set to pick up his order so why do I have to add one before swapping or editing his order?

Editing a product in an existing subscription triggers Bold Subscriptions look for shipping rate updates. Due to a limitation from Shopify, Bold Subscriptions is unable to see pickup locations without a shipping address.
