Display Regular Product Price in Subscription Widget

For stores that installed Bold Subscriptions on or after June 30, 2025, the regular product price (the price before any subscription discounts) is automatically displayed in the subscription widget.

If you installed Bold Subscriptions before June 30, 2025, you have two methods to display the regular product price:

  • Method 1: Remove and re-add the Subscription widget app block. This updates the widget to its latest default version. Be aware that any existing style or language customizations in the app block settings will need to be reapplied.
  • Method 2: Add the {regular_price} merge field in Language Settings. This method allows you to preserve any existing style or language customizations in the app block settings.

This guide provides step-by-step instructions for both methods.

Remove and re-add the Subscription widget app block

  1. From the Shopify admin, navigate to Sales channels > Online Store > Themes.
  2. Click Customize next to the theme where Bold Subscriptions is installed.

  3. Click the Sections icon in the left sidebar.

  4. Expand the top-center dropdown menu, select Products, then select the product template where you’ve installed the Subscription widget app block.
  5. Expand the Template section in the left menu and find the Subscription widget app block.

  6. Hover over the Subscription widget app block and then click on the trash can icon to remove it.

  7. To re-add the app block, hover your curser between menu items until the Add block pop-up appears.
  8. Click on the blue plus sign.

  9. Click on Apps, then click on Subscription widget.

  10. Optional: To see a live preview of the storefront subscription widget, switch your Default product to one that belongs to an active subscription group. In the top left corner of the theme customizer, next to Preview, click Change and select a subscription product.
  11. Optional: Drag and drop the Subscription widget app block to your preferred location in the menu.
  12. Optional: Apply other style customizations as desired.

  13. Click Save in the top-right corner.

 

 

Add the regular_price merge field

  1. From the Shopify admin, navigate to Sales channels > Online Store > Themes.
  2. Next to your chosen theme, select Customize.
  3. Click the Sections icon in the left sidebar.

  4. Expand the top-center dropdown menu, select Products, then select the product template where you’ve installed the Subscription widget app block.
  5. Expand the Template section in the left menu and find the Subscription widget app block.
  6. Click on the Subscription widget app block to open the style and language settings.

    Note: The settings may appear on the left or right depending on the size of your screen.

  7. Scroll down to the Language Settings and find the Delivery frequency discount text and Billing frequency discount text fields.

  8. Add the {regular_price} merge field before the closing parenthesis.

  9. Click Save in the top-right corner.
