To begin migrating your data, our Migration team may need to access your Bold Subscription app from within Bold Account Center. Each migration is unique, and as such, our team may or may not require that you connect a legacy payment gateway as well.

The following steps are provided in the event that they are required during the migration process. Your Migrations Specialist will guide you through whatever steps are required.

Provide Account Center access

Bold Account Center is a tool that allows brands to manage their Bold apps, integrations, and users — from one centralized location.

In order to begin migrating your data, our Migration team will need to access your store’s Bold Subscriptions application from within Bold Account Center. To provide access, you will need to create an account in Bold Account Center, add your store, and add Bold Commerce as a user.

Please use the video walkthrough or the written steps below to supply our Migration team with the access needed to complete your migration.

Alert: Multi-Factor Authentication (MFA) is now required when setting up your Bold Account. Please refer to Create & Connect a Bold Account for when first creating your Bold account. These new steps are not shown in the video.

Connect a legacy Stripe account

If you are using Stripe on your current platform and are planning on using Shopify Payments in Subscriptions for Shopify Checkout, you will need to connect a legacy Stripe account before migrating.

Customers imported with Stripe will continue to have their orders to process on Stripe until their payment information is updated. Once updated, they will then be moved into Shopify Payments. Until this is done, you will be using the Stripe account, and subject to their transaction fees. New subscribers will be processed through Shopify Payments.

To connect a legacy Stripe account, please follow the steps below.

  1. Go to: [YourShopURL]/admin/payments/legacy_subscription

Note: Replace [YourShopURL] with the address to your store.

  2. Enter the email address for your Stripe account.

    Enter your email address

  3. Ensure the correct account is selected, and then select Connect.

    Select Connect

Once these steps are completed, you will be redirected to your Shopify admin. A green banner will display the message Stripe account connected. You can also see your connected account number further down on the page.
