QuickBooks Sync allows you to import your products from QuickBooks Online to your Shopify store.

This article explains what happens when your products are imported from QuickBooks to Shopify and shows you how to perform an export.

Functionality

When importing your products from QuickBooks Online to Shopify, mappings are created, and all inventory and non-inventory products are imported. In addition, inventory levels on previously imported and mapped products are updated to the levels shown in QuickBooks online.

Products set to inactive in QuickBooks Online are not included in the import.

Important considerations

When importing products from Shopify to QuickBooks Online, all products are imported as non-inventory products. If you would like to track inventory, you must update the imported products to inventory products in QuickBooks Online. When tracking inventory, the quantities are reduced on mapped products every time an order is exported with QuickBooks Sync.

Setup

  1. From your Shopify admin, open QuickBooks Sync.
  2. From the QuickBooks Sync home page, scroll down to the Import QuickBooks Products to Shopify section.
  3. Click Import Products.

  4. Click Import Products again.

Once the above steps are completed, QuickBooks Sync begins importing your products. The amount of time it takes depends on the amount of items you are importing. A green progress bar is displayed to let you know the status of your import.
