- From within the Shopify admin, navigate to Settings > Checkout.
- In the Post-purchase page section, select Bold Upsell.
- Navigate to Bold Upsell > Manual Offers, and click Create New Offer.
- Enter an internal name for your offer.
- Click Set a trigger.
- Expand the Trigger event dropdown menu, and select Post purchase Pop-up.

- Click Select Products, and select your products, variants, or collection.
- Click Save Selection.

Bold Discounts - Shopify App Store
With both apps installed and the duplicate and hide installation completed, please use the following steps to set up a BOGO offer.

Step 1: Create the Discounted Product
- From within your Discounts app, select Current Discounts.
- Click Create Discount.
- Enter a Discount Name.
- Enter 100% for the Discount Amount.
- Select % next to "Discount Amount".
- Click Select Products.
- Select Add next to the product(s) you would like to discount.
Note: You can also filter by collection, vendor, and product type.
- Click Continue with selected products.
- Leave Enable Date Range deselected.
- Leave Override cents deselected.
- Under Duplicate & Hide select Create a hidden duplicate (Liquid update required).
- Click Create.
- Click the Toggle to enable the offer.
Note: The toggle is green when the offer is enabled.
- Click OK.
Wait for the discount process to complete, then continue with the next steps.
Step 2: Verify the Discounted Products
- From Shopify's admin, navigate to Products.
- Search for the Product Name(s) (the product(s) you selected in Step 1) using the search bar.
You should see two products here, one at the regular price, and one at the discounted price.
If you can see these two products, continue with the next steps.
Step 3: Create the Offer
- Navigate to Bold Upsell > Manual Offers, and click Create New Offer.

Note: This restricts the offer from showing unless your customers have that amount trigger products in the cart.
- Click Set an offer.
- Enter an offer Title and Description.
- Click Select Products and select your discounted hidden product.
Note: If you are unable to find it with the search feature, select Sync Products in the top of the product selector. Close the window and try again in a few minutes.
- Click Save Selection.
- Optional: Click Set date range and enter a Start and End date.
- Optional: Select Set cart price and enter a Min and Max cart total.
- Enable the toggle next to Automatically remove items from the cart if the trigger or conditions are unmet.
- Click Save Offer.
Step 4: Test the Offer
- Navigate to the trigger product on the storefront.
- Click Add to Cart.

Buy One Get X Discount on a Product
These types of promotions are effective in encouraging customers to purchase more items, increasing the average order value, and clearing out excess inventory. They are commonly used by retailers in various industries to attract customers with enticing deals while boosting sales.
You have two powerful methods to implement promotions like Buy X Get Y at Z Discount:
- Post-purchase: With Bold Upsell, you can create offers where purchasing one product triggers a discount on another product after a trigger product has been purchased in the checkout. For example, buying Product A can trigger a discount on Product B, allowing you to offer Buy X Get Y at Z Discount. This method enhances product bundling and encourages customers to explore complementary items.
- Product page pop-up: Alternatively, you can leverage Bold Discounts to set up promotions directly on your storefront. You can offer Buy X Get Y at Z Discount either before the checkout page for the same product (e.g., Buy 2 Get 1 50% Off) or for different products (e.g., Buy Product A, Get Product B at 25% Off). This approach allows you to display enticing promotions upfront, capturing customer interest and boosting sales conversion.
Both methods provide flexibility and efficiency in creating this promotion that drives sales and enhances customer satisfaction.

The second method is an integration with Bold Discounts that works well for promoting a discount on a specific product directly on your storefront, potentially driving more traffic and sales through upfront visibility.
Both methods have their advantages depending on your specific marketing goals and customer behavior. Choose the one that aligns best with your promotional strategy and customer engagement preferences.
Method 1: Post purchase offer

By combining Bold Upsell’s modal customization capabilities with Bold Subscriptions’ recurring billing features and discounts, you can effectively persuade customers to opt for a subscription model, thereby increasing customer retention and generating predictable revenue streams.

Bold Subscriptions - Shopify App Store
This integration only allows you to convert a one-time purchase into a standard subscription using the Upsell feature. Converting a one-time purchase into a prepaid subscription or cross-selling a different subscription product are not available at this time.
With both apps and theme installs completed, please use the following steps to upsell a one time product as a recurring subscription.

Step 1: Add Trigger Product into a Subscription Group
- Within Bold Subscriptions, click Subscription groups.
- Click Create subscription group.
- Enter a Group name.
Note: This is an internal name, your customers don't see this.
- Click Select Products.
- Click the checkbox beside all of the products you'd like to include in the group.
- Click Confirm.
- Set your Subscription Frequency. Select Days, Weeks, Months or Years.
Note: All frequencies appear as selectable options in the upsell modal.
- Click Show advanced options. There are a few different options to choose from depending on the frequency you have selected. These are as follows:
- On purchase day: This causes the customer's subscription to renew based on the date of their initial purchase.
- On specific day of the month: This causes the customer's subscription to renew on the same day every month; regardless of their date of purchase.

Custom occurrence: This allows you to set up custom logic for when your customers subscriptions renew. Additional choices show after selecting this option.
Note: If either of the last two options are selected, you have the ability to Use cutoff days.
- Enter Frequency name.
- Click Save Frequency.
- Optional: Click Add new frequency and repeat steps 7 - 10 for additional frequency intervals.
- Click Offer a discount for subscribing.
Note: This provides a Subscribe & Save! incentive to your customers. Discounts applied within this area for Bold Subscriptions recur on every order for this product and appears in the upsell modal.
- Click Save Changes.
Note: Newly created subscription groups are activated on your storefront as soon as they are saved.
Step 2: Create Upsell Offer
- Navigate to Bold Upsell > Manual Offers, and click Create New Offer.
- Enter an internal name for your offer.
- Click Set a trigger.
- Expand the Event trigger dropdown menu, and select Product Page Pop-up.
- Select Upsell.
- Under Trigger products, select Trigger an upsell on specific products.
- Click Select Products, and select the products you added to your subscription group in the previous step.
- Click Save Selection.
