Custom Pricing Overview & Pricing

Custom Pricing for Shopify lets you offer tiered customer-specific pricing and quantity-based discounts on your store. Use customer tags to configure special pricing for different customer segments such as wholesale customers, VIP members, or other customer groups. Quantity-based discounts can be offered to everyone or just specific customers, and pricing can be set storewide or to selected groups of products. Use Detailed Pricing for the most control over individual product and variant pricing.

Custom Pricing also includes features such as:

• Auto-tag by customer location or order history

• Set discounts by percentage, amount off, or fixed price

• Import detailed pricing using CSV files

• Customizable Quantity Breaks table for your product page

• Ability to charge tax optionally

Availability & installation

Custom Pricing is currently available on Shopify.

Once Custom Pricing is downloaded to your store, you can follow the in-app onboarding to set up the features you need and properly install it to your theme. For step-by-step instructions, please visit Activate Custom Pricing.

Pricing

Custom Pricing offers three plans that let you create special pricing for different customer groups using customer tags. Each plan supports a different number of customer tags, while all plans include unlimited Quantity Breaks (volume discounts). Plans also provide access to additional features so you can choose the level of control that best fits your business.

A 14-day free trial is available when installing Custom Pricing for the first time, giving you time to explore all features before billing begins.

Change your price plan

To change your price plan in Custom Pricing, please follow these steps:

1. In Custom Pricing, navigate to Settings > Account Plans.

2. Choose your desired plan.

   Note: Some plans may not be shown if you have more tags configured in Custom Pricing the plan supports. You can reduce your tags to become eligible for those plans.

3. Click Approve Charges.

Flexible discounting

Customer Tags

Custom Pricing leverages Shopify's customer tags which allows you to define quick and easy discounts for different customer groups across your entire store.

Product Pricing Groups

For even greater control, Product Pricing Groups allow you to group different products together to define specific discounts for each product group and each customer tag.

Detailed Pricing

Detailed Pricing, available on the premium plan, offers the most control. With Detailed Pricing you can create individual discounts per product and variant for each of your customer groups. Use a CSV to define your inventory and discounts, and then upload the file to Custom Pricing.

The discounts defined in Detailed Pricing are prioritized over your default customer tags and Product Pricing Groups.

Example:

If you have a discount of 10% off in a price group, and 15% off set in Detailed Pricing, the 15% off discount overrules the discount set in the price group.

Quantity Breaks

Create volume-based discounts for regular shoppers or for specific customer groups. Use Quantity Breaks to encourage your customers to purchase even more!

Custom Pricing versions

Custom Pricing is available in three different versions, each using a different discount method to suit your business needs.

Auto-tagging

Auto-tagging, available on the Standard and Complete plans, allows you to automatically tag a customer based on their country location or purchasing history.  Use the email engine to automatically email customers when they are tagged into a new pricing level.

Import/Export

Custom Pricing allows you to bulk import and export pricing using a CSV file when on the Complete plan. This allows you to quickly edit and upload detailed pricing, rather than manually editing multiple Product Pricing Groups.

Bold Memberships integration
