Why can't I manually update the payment method for customers in Bold Subscriptions?

Bold Subscriptions for Shopify Checkout works with Shopify's checkout. Because of this, your customer’s payment information is stored in and managed by Shopify. If you need update a customer's payment manually, you can do this in Shopify. Please refer to the instructions on Shopify's Help Center here: https://help.shopify.com/en/manual/customers/manage-customers#edit-a-customers-subscription-payment-information.

Otherwise, your can trigger the Shopify email to request your customer update their payment information from within Bold Subscriptions. To do this, follow these instructions:

  1. From within Bold Subscriptions, select Customers.

  2. Search for the customer by name or email.

  3. Click on the ellipsis under the "Actions" column, and select "Manage subscriptions".

  4. Click "Payment information".

  5. Click the "Change payment information" button.
