Integrating Easy Bundles with Subscriptions for Shopify Checkout gives you the ability to offer build-a-box type subscriptions. Easy Bundles allows your customers to pick and choose exactly what they want from a list of products and receive the items as a one-time purchase or a recurring subscription.
Video Walkthrough
Functionality
When a bundle is created in Easy Bundles, you can either copy the bundle link and place it anywhere on your store, link the bundle to a dummy product or add an Upsell button to each product page that links to the bundle selection page.
Example
When a bundle is added onto a page, the products are displayed similar to the example above. Easy Bundles offers a variety of page layouts. More details on the different page designs can be found in Easy Bundle’s Help Center (links to Easy Bundle).
Example
Using a dummy product, you can connect the bundle to a placeholder product, with the "Add to Cart" button redirecting to the bundle.
When a customer is on the bundle page, they can add products on the page to make up their bundle. You can set conditions within the bundle to limit the quantity, price amount and weight of the bundle that customers must meet before the bundle can be added into the checkout.
Discounts can also be applied to bundles to help incentivize customers to add a certain quantity of products or meet a price amount when building their bundles. Bundle discounts are applied in addition to subscription discounts for the first order only.
Example
When a customer is finished creating their bundle, they are directed to a summary page showing the items they added from the bundle, as well as purchase options. You can set the bundle to be purchasable as a one time and subscribe and save within Easy Bundles.
If all of the products that are added from the bundle by a customer are available for a subscription and share common subscription plans, the customer has the option of subscribing to the bundle on a recurring basis.
Note: Subscription bundles are only available on certain price plans within Easy Bundles. Please view the price plans for Easy Bundles (links to Shopify) to view all available price plans.
Example
When a customer purchases a subscription bundle, the bundle is captured as a subscription by Bold Subscriptions. Customers are able to make modifications to the products in their subscription, such as swapping products from the same subscription group, adding one time products or other subscription products you are offering on your store to their subscription.
Setup
Step 1: Create a Subscription Group in Bold Subscriptions
- From within Bold Subscriptions, navigate to Subscription groups.
- Click Create subscription group.

- Click Confirm.
- Set your Subscription frequency. Select Days, Weeks, Months or Years.
- Click Show advanced options, and choose from the following options:
- On purchase day: The customer's subscription renews based on the date of their initial purchase.

Note: Newly created subscription groups will be active on your storefront as soon as they are saved.
Step 2: Create a bundle in Easy Bundles
Follow along with Easy Bundles’ article (links to Easy Bundles) to create your bundle.
Note: On Step 4. Advanced Configurations, ensure that the toggle next to Subscriptions is enabled and the toggle next to Recurring Discounts is enabled if you are offering a recurring discount from Bold Subscriptions.
Step 3: Publish your bundle
Once your bundle has been created, you need to publish the bundle to your storefront. You can either add the bundle to a page using the bundle URL provided from within Easy Bundles, or use a dummy product that directs customers to the bundle page.
Please visit Easy Bundles’ article (links to Easy Bundles) for steps on publishing a bundle.
Important considerations
- All products in each bundle must have common subscription/pricing plans assigned through Bold Subscriptions. Products that do not contain the same subscription plans are not available to purchase as a subscription when building the bundle.
- In the bundle configuration page the subscription toggle is to be toggled on to enable bundles to be bought as subscriptions.
- Discounts set in the conditions section of the bundle will be applied on the subscription purchase only for their first payment by default.
- Enable Delivery Scheduler feature in Easy Bundles only works on the first order. After the first order, the date cannot be edited by the customer or admin.
